ALBEI's Board Diversity Research is Out

Writer's picture: Mark BaxterMark Baxter

In Australia 90% of the ASX300 Board seats are taken up by Anglo-celtic directors. Only 1% are LGBT and no-one discloses that they are disabled. We have only 4 first nations directors out of over 2,000 directors... more work is needed. First nations, disabled and LGBTQ+ people are sorely under-represented. Governance and policy structures play a role in preventing better board diversity. ALBEI has researched and reviewed the diversity and inclusion policies, board governance documents and the Corporate Governance Statements for the ASX200 and some of the results are very surprising.
